Services Provided
COUNSELING 
My counseling is not covered by insurance companies because my national certification and license were not accepted by Albany for NY state.  However, the counseling is provided by the Catholic Deaf Apostolate of the Diocese of Buffalo and the Sisters of St. Francis of the Neuman Communities.  This counseling is for those who are experiencing 'rough spots' on their life journey and would like some support.   The primary group served will be persons who are Deaf, hearing impaired, their families, persons with disabilites and their families and the people from Resurrection parish. 

I have been involved with pastoral ministry with the Deaf since 1980.  I am a member of the National Catholic Office of the Deaf. .  I am a Nationally Certified Counselor, an internationally certified co-occuring disorders professional and a certified addiction counselor in the state of NY and PA.  My speciality is working with client's who are Deaf, hearing impaired, or adults who lost their hearing later in life.  My background is in education with persons with multiple disabilities. I was a teacher of children with disabilites for ten years before I became involved with Deaf ministry.


On Monday through Thursday I am available at Resurrection Church in Cheektowaga.  We are at the corner of Union Rd and Como Park Blvd.  Ministry includes  counseling, home visits, visits to hospitals and nursing homes, Bible Study, and sign language classes.

INTERPRETING
I am available to interpret Church services i.e. weddings, funerals, First Communion, Confirmation etc. and AA/NA meetings. As my scedule permits this includes the 8 counties of the Diocese of Buffalo in western NY.

TUTORING
I am willing to work with interpreters who are interested in interpreting the Mass or 12 Step meetings; persons who would like practice in American Sign Language; or persons who became deaf as adults and need one on one instructions to learn sign language.

MENTORING
I am eager to pass on my experience to counselors that are licensed in NY so that Deaf persons and those with other disabilities can get the services they are entitled to receive.
